VISION:
"The quality of people's lives is enhanced by the provision of affordable and appropriate housing choices delivered by innovative, flexible and viable community housing organisations".
Our vision is supported by QCHC's Mission which is, "to strengthen the community housing sector1 in its ability to provide innovative, quality, supportive services to people in housing need,2 and to enhance the recognition of community housing as a viable and appropriate choice of housing for people in Queensland.
WHAT DO WE DO?
Our aim is to foster the development of community housing as a viable, affordable and secure housing option for all people in housing need. QCHC is a membership organisation, which provides a range of services to the community housing sector. We do this through consultation with housing providers statewide. Services QCHC provides are:
- resources, advice and guidance to community housing providers
- dissemination of information from regional consultation, including mail outs, e-bulletins
- representation on state and national committees
- development of special projects which arise from recognised areas of need
- promotion of community housing
- development of learning materials and delivery of training (QCHC is a Registered Training Organisation - RTO)
- policy development / advocacy
- research and development of good practice
As a Registered Training Organisation the Learning Centre delivers training to meet sector needs. Training is provided through special project funding, however the majority is offered on a fee for service (cost recovery) basis.
